Ah, the great British Summer. That enigmatic few days every year when the tarmac melts before it starts raining again.

Will this summer be record-setting heat wave? Or will this summer be record-setting floods? Who knows?

What we DO know though, is that sometimes in summer, you want to have the buzzy pick-me-up of coffee, without the hot drink, and this is where Cold Brew comes in.

Cold brew sounds complex, but it’s about the easiest way to make coffee.

Add some coffee to the mesh strainer (I recommend about 50g) and then add cold, filtered water (I recommend about 800ml) then put in the fridge overnight.

When you wake up - cold brew. you can pour directly out of the bottle or remove the filter to stop the brewing, and you’ll have refreshing, fresh cold brew to enjoy.

It’s great on it’s own, over vanilla ice cream or with a slice of lemon, tonic water (and Gin if you fancy it.)

It’s the perfect summer drink to impress the vicar at the garden party, or as a more natural alternative to the sugary energy drinks that the kids want to drink.
